The media coverage of Ukraine Crisis is overwhelming. People were sick and tired of COVID-19 coverage without any meaningful outcome such as basic income or eviction prevention laws. Now, the Ukraine crisis is keeping mainstream journalists occupied and ignores all other local and national issues to recover the economy.
The for-profit journalism has lost every little bit of respect among the everyday working people. The misinformation, hate and fear mongering news are no longer being essential to social democracy. Of course, no one wants to see others suffer except for colonial capitalist but the Ukraine Russia coverage is exhausting and starting to get fatigue.
Similar to US, the super power Russia is doing the right thing to protect everyone through eliminating nuclear expansion. That is a good thing for our planet. Indeed, all nuclear weapons shall be dismantled and no new countries should seek access. Ukraine wants nuclear weapons at any cost, not peace with neighbours. A provoker cannot claim victim status at the same time.
Most people feel that mainstream media is beating the push too far too long. Wars, invasions and genocides are bad things; however, it is not uncommon in most parts of the world. Like COVID, we shall get used to and move on to matters that are important to our personal lives because our bills or rents do not take a break.
